Founded in 2006 in Isiolo,
Promoting Peaceful Co-existence in the Northern
Frontier Counties.
Regional Pastoralists Peace Link (RPPL), formerly known as Isiolo Peace Link (IPL), was established in 2006 under the Ministry of Gender and Social Services. RPPL has played a crucial role in addressing Peace and Reconciliation issues, successfully resolving various pastoral and urban conflicts. Additionally, RPPL provides alert services to various peace-building actors and government law enforcement agencies both within and outside the County. Utilizing traditional conflict resolution mechanisms alongside conventional structures, RPPL engages in arbitration and negotiations to halt conflicts. The organization also counters Violent Extremism through positive youth engagement and empowerment programs. As a part of a broader network, Regional Pastoralists Peace Link functions as a preventive mechanism within communities, contributing to an institutionalized conflict early warning and early response system. RPPL continuously monitors and reports potential conflicts to facilitate timely preventive actions.
