I n May 2020, Kenya renewed its commitment to the women peace and security agenda by launching its second-generation national action plan (KNAP II—2020-2024) for the implementation of the women peace and security agenda. The plan articulates priorities and implementation roles by government agencies, development partners, civil society, academia, and the private sector at national and county level. The overall objective of the action plan, is to strengthen, accelerate, and provide accountability for the implementation of the women, peace, and security agenda in Kenya. The objective is to be achieved by delivering pillar specific objectives, outcomes, and outputs. KNAP II is organised around four pillars that mirror the UNSCR 1325 pillars. These pillars are Participation and Promotion; Prevention; Protection, Relief and Recovery
“We at Isiolo Indigenous Women 1325 Action Group, with support of Isiolo Peace Link have organized ourselves through the different pillars and are amplifying our voices in women peace and security agenda”
